We’re excited to share the news that Vistara Growth portfolio company Kentik has completed its recently announced acquisition by Infoblox, marking the next chapter in Kentik’s mission to revolutionize how IT teams run their networks, and a full exit for Vistara.
Vistara’s relationship with Kentik began in May 2020, when we led a US$23.5 million growth financing combining equity and non-dilutive growth debt, alongside existing investors August Capital, Third Point Ventures, and Data Collective (DCVC). At the time, global network traffic was surging as the world shifted to remote work, and Kentik’s network intelligence platform was already trusted by the likes of IBM, Zoom, Dropbox, eBay, Cisco, and GoDaddy.
We continued to support the company in October 2021, participating in their US$40 million Series C round as they launched new products including Kentik Synthetics and Kentik Cloud to provide even more value and capabilities to their customers. Finally, with the company having more than doubled in size since the time of our initial investment, we replaced our initial non-dilutive participation with a larger $35M growth debt facility in 2023 to enable them to continue to expand from a position of further financial strength.
For Vistara, our relationship with Kentik reflects the kind of long-term partnership we seek to build: providing flexible growth capital at key inflection points and continuing to support category-leading technology companies as they scale.
Over the six years since our first investment, we watched Kentik grow from a network observability pioneer into a full network intelligence platform, deepening its footprint with the world’s most demanding networks and service providers along the way. That journey now continues within Infoblox, uniting Kentik’s network intelligence and observability capabilities with Infoblox’s authoritative DNS, asset visibility, and critical network services to power the next generation of AgenticOps.

Santa Clara, California, July 8, 2026 – Infoblox, the leading platform for preemptive security and critical network services, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Kentik, a leading network intelligence and observability platform. Kentik provides real-time visibility across networks, applications and cloud environments, helping organizations optimize performance and accelerate AI-driven network operations. This planned acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
As organizations face growing complexity across networks, cloud environments, applications, AI workloads and digital services, they require deeper visibility, actionable intelligence and greater operational control. Further, with AI taking on greater responsibility, the quality and completeness of the data it acts on has become mission critical. The planned acquisition of Kentik will help customers understand what is happening across their infrastructure continuously and identify and prioritize issues more efficiently, while also solidifying data foundations for AI tools. This accelerates the company’s vision for an infrastructure-centric, AI-driven security and networking platform.

- An AI-ready data foundation: A shared data fabric that provides a clean, continuously updated data layer helps teams move from signal to answer to action. Integration through open protocols like the Infoblox Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server will ultimately enable teams to connect this fabric to the orchestration and AI tools they already use.
