Overview: Laurie Schultz, former CEO of Galvanize and current Director with Constellation Software, Riskalyze (Chair), UserZoom, and Boast.ai (Chair), will discuss the common “x’s and o’s” found in any successful tech business and the unique perspective she has from building Galvanize into $1 billion exit. Now an independent board member, she’ll also discuss her vantage point in a world where she now sits between investors and management.

Overview: Terry McBride, CEO and Co-Founder of Nettwerk Music Group, in a discussion with Randy Garg, will share his insights on technology trends driving the music industry today. The conversation will provide an inside look into Terry’s past and the technological evolutions he’s both predicted and experienced throughout his career. Terry will share how Nettwerk has positioned itself at the forefront of the music industry with its unique data driven approach in an industry that is in a constant state of change.

Rasha Katabi
Founder & CEO – Brim Financial
Rasha is the Founder and CEO of Brim Financial, Brim’s platform-as-a service is the first and only end to end modular platform that enables embedded finance, embedded banking and innovation in real time. Rasha’s careers spans over 20 years in structured finance and capital markets, notably she served as President and Chair of the Mortgage-Backed Securities Issuers Association (MBSIA) for 2 consecutive terms, and as Director of the Board at Russell Investments in Canada.
Terry McBride
CEO – Nettwerk Music Group
Terry McBride is the CEO & co-founder of Nettwerk Music Group, which includes Canada’s largest independent Music Company. Founded in McBride’s apartment in 1984, Nettwerk has corporate offices worldwide. Since its inception, Nettwerk has released over 800 albums and sold over 200 million albums worldwide with artists such as Avril Lavigne, Barenaked Ladies, Coldplay, Dido, and Sarah McLachlan. McBride is a multi-Juno winner and in 2003 became the youngest recipient of the Walt Grealis award, Canada’s highest music honour.
Sam Ranieri
CEO – Reach
Sam Ranieri is the Co-founder and CEO of Reach, the cross-border payment technology that delivers lower costs, higher conversions, and less risk for merchants expanding into international markets. A seasoned executive and leader, Sam has more than two decades of experience in the fintech, FX and payments industries, along with several years of entrepreneurship expertise.
Laurie Schultz
Board Director, Technology CEO
Laurie Schultz has over 30 years of technology-related experience spanning the personal finance, small business accounting, ERP, CRM and GRC categories with organizations including Galvanize, Sage, Intuit, KPMG, and TELUS. As Director and CEO at Galvanize from 2011 to 2021, she became Canada’s first female CEO to lead a technology company to unicorn status on its April 2021 sale to Diligent for $1B USD.
Al Karim Somji
Founder & CEO – Zafin
Al Karim Somji founded Zafin in 2002. Besides his role as CEO, he is the chief visionary at Zafin, and as such, he has successfully built a team focused on delivering innovations and sustainable revenue growth in banking. Today, Zafin’s solutions play an important and strategic role at some of the largest and most innovative banks in the world.
