About Vistara

At Vistara (Sanskrit for “expansion”), we provide highly flexible capital solutions in the form of growth debt and/or growth equity to meet the financing needs of mid-later stage technology companies across North America.

We invest exclusively in technology with a primary focus on enterprise software, including targeted key verticals of Fintech, Cloud/IT infrastructure, Security, and Healthcare IT. We are currently investing from our latest Vistara Technology Growth Fund V LP, continuing our own expansion since inception in 2015.

Based in Vancouver, with an initial primary focus on deal sourcing, you will be an integral member of our investment team having direct exposure to all aspects of the deal process. Our ideal candidate embraces a dynamic, multifaceted role in an entrepreneurial organization where you will also gain direct exposure to our partners, senior deal team, technology company executives, and other investors in the technology funding ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Sourcing:

• Key resource on the investment team in initially identifying and qualifying prospective investment opportunities.  Candidate will have access to a variety of database subscriptions, online resources, and wherever possible look to leverage and manage AI-based technologies and outsourced capabilities.
• Manage and report on dealflow funnel through our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
• Will also support coverage of key investment verticals, including industry mapping and identifying key stakeholders and events.

Execution & Monitoring:

• Supporting initial financial, strategic, and competitive analysis of prospective investments, including reviewing detailed financial models.
• As opportunities progress, support due diligence efforts with senior deal team members as well as exposure to general deal closing workflows.
• Contribute to post-investment portfolio management, including analyzing performance and trends from portfolio company reporting.

Requirements:

• Strong desire to own and manage much of the deal sourcing process, as part of the path to becoming a technology investor as a core member of a dynamic entrepreneurial team.
• 2-4 years of relevant experience: Investment (growth equity, venture capital, or investment banking);  Operating Role (finance, corporate development with a technology company); or proficiency in a more technical background with a view to becoming a technology investment professional.
• Familiarity with debt and/or equity structures utilized by private technology investors is an asset but not a requirement.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into summarized insights for presentation to team members.
• High level of proficiency in Office 365 (particularly Excel) required, with experience in other technology systems including use of AI-based tools being an asset.
• Highly organized, able to handle multiple parallel tasks, and effectively prioritize where needed.
• Proactively solicits opinions and ideas. Curious and enthusiastic to learn and grow
